Spinning Top Volcano
thingiverse
I was searching for gear mechanisms and came across this amazing spinning top that resembles Mt Fuji when spun. This is something I created using similar principles, as it spins you see a volcanic cone surrounded by mist. Mine's a lot flatter and wider, so I'll refer to it as Mt Ruapehu (Auckland, New Zealand). I strongly suggest printing this with contrasting colored filaments. Unfortunately, I only had grey and white, and it really needs more visual interest. Try black/white or dark blue/white for better results. I've attached 2 STLs, which are set up to print. You will need rafts, but it printed fine without supports. Instructions Print the wedge with the stick at the bottom and wedge on top with a raft. You should not need any additional support. Print the spinner with the wedge-shaped hole at the bottom on a raft. This one shouldn't require supports either.
