Human-designed models printed in layered PLA material are 50 percent dense in their interior composition, and they exhibit a .2 millimeter thickness at each subsequent layer. Additionally, the designs call for an overhang along the base to prevent the printed object from lifting as it cools and solidifies after the printing process has finished. Since the structure doesn't include any additional support systems needed to maintain its stability during construction.
