Spindle View Dust Shoe for 64mm spindle
youmagine
I got tired of manually sweeping up aluminum shavings and decided to design a simple dust shoe for my spindle. I wanted to see what the cutting tool was doing, so I built this thing. You'll likely need to drill out the holes for the LEDs yourself - just make sure you don't go all the way through as there's a stopper at the end that keeps them in place. If the LEDs don't fit, you might have to ream out the 5mm section after the stopper too. The same goes for the endoscope; it should be a friction fit. Wiring up the LEDs is easy - just wire them in series and calculate your resistor value using this online tool: http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz. Then, simply hook them up to your power supply and you're done. Once you've cut the skirt, place the dust shoe on the spindle, wrap the skirt around it, and secure it with a ziptie. The ziptie holds the skirt in place but also helps hold the shoe onto the spindle. I'm having trouble with Youmagine corrupting my .dwg files, so I uploaded .step files instead for you to play with.
