Spindle / Laser Module holder
thingiverse
I acquired a Chinese CNC 1610 GRBL engraver for making printed circuit boards and opted to get a laser module as well, which allowed me to experiment with engraving. My concern was that I wanted to keep my wiring organized by not having to remove either the laser module or the spindle each time I switched tools, so I decided to keep both on the machine. This way, I could keep my wiring tied together and neat. To achieve this, I designed a small holder that fits into a T-Slot, allowing me to store either the spindle or the laser module when not in use. The holder rests on a plastic piece of the machine, and I used one of my T-slot cover clips (10mm version) to clip it firmly in place above the holder. If you don't have a plastic piece below the holder, you can use two T-slot clips to prevent it from slipping down. You can find the T-slot clips at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2016302.
