Spindle for balancing rear contra prop F3A

Spindle for balancing rear contra prop F3A

The rear propeller for contra-rotating drives has a very large tapered hole, making user balancing difficult with most commercially available balancers. This spindle snaps into the hub with friction fit. I made mine with PLA on a .175 resolution printer. I recommend printing it solid in your slicer (fill density 100%). Consider the hole a pilot, so you will likely have to open it up with a drill press while inserted into a reference prop. My balancer uses a 1/8" rod and the pilot is slightly less than that. I check the spindle's balance using a known good reference prop and testing in all orientations.
