This is a custom spindle designed specifically for the Home Depot cord reel. With minimal modification to the reel frame, it can easily accommodate a 5lb spool such as the one sold by UltiMachine. This spindle boasts extremely low friction levels, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. I've uploaded both the original design and version 2 of the bottom piece, which I believe would require even less plastic material. Upon examining the gcode generated for version 2, it appears that it uses more plastic than version 1 despite using a 25% fill rate. However, I haven't yet had the chance to print the version 2 design, so please let me know how it performs if you decide to give it a try.
