I stumbled upon this YouTube video a few years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6T0U9yEw0I, but at the time, I didn't have a pressing need for its content. Recently, with 3D printing on the rise and PLA being my material of choice, I found myself in need of a slow-moving sander that wouldn't melt the plastic. Most sanders are too aggressive, moving at such high speeds that they essentially vaporize the plastic. I repurposed an old Spin Brush to create a makeshift sander, capitalizing on its existing design and functionality. The rounded back-and-forth motion of the brush proved effective for smoothing out surfaces, while the flat square area provided a more precise touch for detailed work. I extended the edges of the sanding surface to reach into tight spaces where the brush's head couldn't quite fit. For those who might need to modify this design or adapt it to their specific needs, I've included the Sketchup file for easy editing. Keep in mind that my toothbrush is almost eight years old, and it's possible that newer models may have undergone significant changes since then.
