SPILIS SLUICEBOX GENERATOR
thingiverse
Here is a generator that I can use to create all sorts of sluicebox parts from one machine, like riffles in every shape and size, classifiers that fit perfectly together, mats with built-in riffles, mats with intricate geometry and more. This is my idea, not as a programmer, just my third thing made with Openscad, I know it's not perfect but it works for me. I think you could add your own DXF files for custom riffle designs or extruded surface geometries. Just imagine making all sorts of sluicebox parts from one machine! There are many things to make like surface libraries for mats, water connections, fittings and tubes, underflow riffles, hydraulic riffles, fluid beds, even trommels. This generator can make custom sluice boxes with channels, classifiers if desired, from plain mats to customizable size riffle mats. Just single riffles or full-length mats. To use this, just put all the files except the STL in one place and run the generator. The first thing is to think of what you want to create, a quick freehand sketch of your end result can be helpful, also consider what your printer can make. Sluicebox channels are often too big for home printers but you can just buy a square pipe, cut it, nail some wood or bend some metal. Many combinations are possible like mats with classifiers and surface patterns in one part.
