Spiked Desk Lamp

It was inspired by other mass-produced lamps, which can cost anywhere from $100 to upwards of that amount. This one set me back about $20 in total, thanks to the filament and a color-changing light bulb from Amazon that I picked up for just $7, along with a light bulb socket costing $3. The design was modeled using Autodesk 123D, a very straightforward program that's completely free to download and use. I've been honing my skills with Blender, but some tasks are actually easier with 123D because it relies on simple geometric shapes with just a few modifiers for those shapes.
