Spiderbot Printer Fan Redirection Duct
thingiverse
We've been experiencing some problems with our new 3D printer nozzle getting clogged up. We think this is happening because not enough air is being blown over the fins on the latest Spiderbot printer. The fan only blows across one third of the cooling fins, so we came up with a solution to fix it. We designed and printed a duct that redirects the air over all of the fins, making sure they get plenty of airflow. To install it, simply press-fit the fan onto top of the duct - no screws or complicated setup required. The part is made up of two separate pieces that don't need any supports to print them. Just super-glue them together and you're good to go. If your fan doesn't fit snugly enough, try adding a tiny drop of superglue to the matching piece. Note: The shiny foil material in the picture is a heat shield we added to protect the part and cooling fins from getting damaged by the hot-end's heat radiation.
