Spider Tank Remix Movable Legs
thingiverse
This is a Remix of the nice Spider Tank. The design is incredibly cool, but I was appalled by the terrible glueing of the legs, which made them completely non-moveable. So I detached the bases of the legs and attached them to the body of the tank with precision engineering. Then I added pins to the legs for added stability and made cutouts in the bases for smooth movement. I carefully drilled a small amount after printing with the Dremel to gain an extra 1/10 mm clearance, allowing the legs to move freely without restriction. Now you can easily put the legs out for painting or transport without worrying about breaking them due to pressure in the box, which would be disastrous. The base plate for the top is cleverly integrated into this revised design. With just one glueing point instead of five, you'll enjoy a much more streamlined build process and functional legs that can move freely. In Spider1 are the new legs and the main gun. The body is provided in a separate file for your convenience. Feel free to use the original tower, basket, and machine gun from the original design to complete your project. I'm confident you'll love this revised version!
