I rescaled the laser cannon from a different model on this tank, and made a quick and dirty sentry turret base for it. Editing: printing it now, ended up scaling the whole thing by .9 in Cura so it will fit a 60mm gaming base. Editing2: strengthened the feet a little bit, rescaled the laser cannons, and shifted their power/coolant hoses up so that the larger unit will fit on the base. Editing3: I decided since this thing needed twin-linked laser cannons, I had to be able to aim them. The laser cannons have a 3mm hole in them, and the turret top has a hole through it now as well. There's an additional modification to this now since I've printed the first one - I added an 8mm stud to the turret base and a matching hole to the bottom of the turret top. This way, I can make a few bases and be able to swap out turret tops for either bolters or laser cannons. My thought on the 3mm hole through the turret top is to use a piece of filament as a pivot pin and glue it into the laser cannons through the hole in the turret top. I'll use a nylon washer between the laser cannons and the turret top, apply quite a bit of pressure so that it's a friction fit. Hopefully this will allow me to adjust the guns a bit without them being floppy. Editing - final 3/16/2016: I repaired the mesh to fix where it filled the holes on the turret top. Print it lying on its back. I also repaired the bit of mesh around one leg of the base where it ended up leaving a tiny gap when slicing and printing. I still didn't scale these down, so if you want them to fit a 60mm base, scale when slicing to .9. Print Settings: Printer is Portabee-kit. Notes: The turret top will need printed on its back due to the hollows, otherwise it'll be a bit finicky getting the print cleaned out afterward. Don't bother using these laser cannons. The guns I'm using on this are the "forward guns" from the Landraider-ish tank on here. I've split the gun model in half and used them as left and right bolters without any scaling - their size fits much better. How I Designed This: I plopped an image as a background into Blender3D, moved bits around until it looked good enough to me. Then grabbed the laser cannon bits and scaled them until it looked like it matched. I'll post a pic once I get it off the printer.
