Spider Scare Box

I stumbled upon this YouTube scare prank made out of wood and thought, "Why not give it a 3D printed twist?" So, I set out to create my own version. To start, I used a spring from a ballpoint pen as the tensioning mechanism between the two spool holders. This little detail adds an extra level of realism to the prank. Now, here's what you'll need to bring this scare prank to life: * A wire bent into a circle with a diameter of around 80mm - cut it to the perfect length for your setup. * A thread that will be used to pull the spider out of its hiding spot. Attach one end of the thread to the lug on the spool and the other end to the lid at the exact position you want it to slide into place. Practice makes perfect, so test the lid a few times until you find the sweet spot where the thread will catch just right. With a little patience, you'll be ready to scare your friends and family in no time! Check out the original YouTube video that inspired this project here: https://youtu.be/t-S_N-bgMxY And if you're feeling crafty, download the 3D printed spider model from Thingiverse here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:179544 - I scaled it down to about 40mm x 40mm for a more realistic look.
