Spider Robot wide body for Nano expansion board
thingiverse
Modified the Spider Robot's body to fit the Arduino Nano with expansion board and DC-DC voltage converter. The Nano expansion board eliminates the need for custom PCBs, featuring pin headers for servo and Bluetooth module connections that simplify wiring and minimize soldering requirements. However, the Nano expansion board may not provide sufficient current for servos, necessitating an additional DC-DC converter wired to the 5V bus on the expansion board to power the entire system. I employed two 18650 Li-ion batteries and a LM2596 DC-DC module in this setup. This configuration is fully compatible with Regis Hsu's original code; remember to adjust the baud rate to 9600 for Bluetooth connections. I acquired all necessary parts online, with total costs under $30 USD, and assembly took approximately 2-4 hours. Enjoy building! Watch it in action: https://youtu.be/sgeVZeRa-TA
