Adaptation of Spider-Man Drink Coasters Details: See Coaster Description. Converting coasters into cutters was relatively straightforward; however, thickening numerous lines proved necessary as they were too thin to be properly extruded (Cura & printer agreement). The "body" version from the coasters was omitted due to excessive detail loss and the resulting thickened appearance. Printer Settings Chinese Prusa i3 Printer Used Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.25 mm Infill: 50% Notes: High infill setting mistakenly carried over from coaster prints, adding extra strength with minimal infill in this design. High resolution is unnecessary for this design. Print thick bottom/top layers (0.8 mm) for a strong surface. Printing multiple units at once significantly affected print quality; proceed with caution. Post-Printing Remove strings and surface imperfections, wash, and consider baking cookies or playing with Play-Doh. Design Process These cutters were adapted from Spider-Man Drink Coasters, see that page for detailed adaptation process. Extrude cut features from the coasters into extruded bosses/bases. Increased height of extrusions and thinned the rim. A failed print revealed the need to thicken numerous lines for successful printing.
