Spice Rack / Shelf
thingiverse
This is a straightforward bracket used to build a riser type spice shelf. Some other designs I've discovered have shelves that are too narrow for my requirements, so I basically doubled the width by using two pieces of stained 1x2" wood side by side for each shelf - this makes each shelf actually 3" wide. I utilized a 6ft piece of 1x2" and cut it into four equal sections of 18", however you can adjust the length to suit your needs. The same bracket works equally well on both the right and left sides, and a third one could be used optionally to support the center of lengthy shelves. I selected white filament for printing the bracket and stained the wood with a mahogany finish to provide some contrast, but you can stain or paint however you want. I also applied a durable clear coat spray to protect it and facilitate easy clean up. If planning to paint, I suggest using a spray to ensure a smooth and even finish - a thick layer of paint might cause the shelves not to fit well in the bracket. During final assembly, I recommend pre-drilling the screw holes with a small drill bit to prevent possible edge splitting. BOM: Printed brackets (x2) 6ft of 1" x 2" wood (actual dimensions 3/4" x 1.5") - cut and stained/painted in four equal sections Desired stain / paint / protective clearcoat 3/4" #8 Wood Screws (x8) Instructions The brackets can be printed with most materials, I used PLA with only 20% infill, and there's more than enough strength.
