Saw Spongybobs spice rack and I liked the concept. Once I printed it, I felt some improvements could be made. These were my main issues.I did not like the chunkiness of the Rail and the large gap below the Tray.I did not like the Rail being square on the front. This allows the corners to be exposed while rotating.I found the center pivot location on the Tray crated some installation limitations. The Rack could not be that close to a wall. Guessing 10cm.ChangesExtension stop moved to the bottom of the Rail.Rail Box Section Removed. Most of the structure elements were incorporated into the Dove Tail section. Including the two taller ribs on the bottom.Rounded front of the Rail.Moved the pivot in the tray closer to the rear. Added a front Trim piece under the Tray. This also doubles for the insertion stop. Made a Pivot Pin so you the tray movement would not use screw thread as a bearing surface.Only made the single layer Tray. Since that is what I needed for my situation.PrintingThe Rail is the main structural item. I recommend a wall count 3-4 and 4-6 top/bottom layersInstallation/Assembly notesI designed it for #6 wood screws. Use 1/2" long screw for the Pin and Trim. The Rail should be tight in the base. I could see the parts not fitting for some people. The whole rack can be assembled before installation. The mounting screw holes are accessible when assembled.I don't recommend using PETG. The rail will likely twist when extended. Use the more rigid PLA or ABS.
