Spice Rack and Knick Knacks #CountertopChallenge
thingiverse
This versatile Spice Rack and Knick Knack drawer can be stacked as high as you want, as wide as needed. Perfect for both everyday cooks and professional chefs, this design is part of the 2015 #CountertopChallenge. Key features include: Interlocking shelves featuring a reliable tongue-and-groove mechanism with nail holes on the back for easy hanging. Build your desired configuration – H, L, or square shapes are all possibilities. This customizable storage system can be scaled to fit any Makerbot size, with an original design dimension of approximately 4x4 inches. Each drawer includes a pull-out pinch handle, a rubber band groove providing a tight seal, and a pour path for convenient spice dispensing (or storing nuts and bolts). The front features a label groove matching the height of standard notebook paper lines. An end and top plate completes this design, giving it a polished look. After updating on 2/28/15, users have found success printing at half scale (about 3 hours) for a smooth-working design without rails. Instead, shelves slide together more smoothly into place. Printing with PLA material is seamless: Simply assemble each shelf by fitting them together using the tongue and groove mechanism. Secure the end drawers to walls or counters using nails or screws. A rubber band around the frame tightens the seal, keeping spices fresh.
