Spice jar
thingiverse
To acquire affordable spices, visit markets with ethnic food sections that offer them in bags; however, transferring to jars is necessary. Spice jars consist of three parts: the jar, cap, and disk. The jar can be printed using default Afinia settings, such as 0.30mm Z-resolution and medium speed, without a raft. Printing the cap and disk with utmost care is crucial due to their intricate details; therefore, use 0.20mm Z-resolution or less on a raft, with "Fine" Quality settings for optimal results. "Normal" quality may be used, but it won't print the finer details as well. Printing all parts right side up will fill the cap with support material, which can be time-consuming to remove; however, turning the part upside down might distort the pivot-pin on top. The top surfaces print cleanly without pockmarks from support attachment points. Cooling fan options may prevent pin distortion during printing. To attach the disk to the cap, apply careful force onto the pivot-pin. The "jar" portion can be scaled in size (Z-axis) as desired, but not in diameter (X and Y). Short jars can be created by aborting the print at an appropriate time.
