A terrestrial globe is a tool of ancient Greek astronomy designed to demonstrate the celestial bodies' orbits around Earth. In the case of the Arsenal Navy, the globe served as an ornamental element atop the campanile tower. The remaining structure is one of the last remnants of the Arsenal and pre-1944 Le Havre cityscape. Today, only a metal framework remains, but before the bombings, a complete sphere, likely representing Earth, occupied its center according to available photographs. Height: 102cm - Diameter: 66cm - Circumference: 212cm. Le Havre City Collection. Acquisition Photogrammetric: SIGU & Topography Service of CODAH.
