Sphero Orientation Disk
thingiverse
I created this disk to make it easier for my students to understand how Sphero gets its bearings in relation to the world. Match the blue orientation light with the notch at 180 degrees, then get started on programming! Standards: NGSS CCSS Overview and Background Getting a handle on how Sphero orients itself is key, and this disk will help students who need a little extra time to grasp it. Lesson Plan and Activity Course Design Create a Sphero course using painter's tape on the floor. I measured out 5 feet, turned at 45 degrees, then 2 feet, followed by a 90-degree turn and another 3 feet. Have individual or paired students program the Sphero to follow the tape path. Use the degree disk to help them grasp the concept and steer the ball. Materials Needed Sphero Device Painter's Tape
