I created this disk to help my students better understand how Sphero gets its bearings in the world. Match the blue orientation light up with the notch at 180 degrees, then get coding! Standards: NGSS CCSS Overview and Background Understanding how Sphero orients itself is key. This disk will help students who struggle to grasp Sphero's orientation and navigation. Lesson Plan and Activity Course Design Create a Sphero course on the floor using painter's tape. Measure out 5 feet, turn 45 degrees, then 2 feet, make a 90 degree turn, and finish with 3 feet. Have individual or paired students program the Sphero to follow the tape path. Use the degree disk to help grasp the concept and steer the ball. Materials Needed Sphero, device, painter's tape
