Sphere jig for lathe - laser cutter files
thingiverse
Here is a laser dxf file for some jigs/formers for making spheres on a lathe. Simply hold up the jig next to your lathe work to check to see how much/where you need to take material away to make it a round shape. Please note I've accounted for a 20mm shank in these jigs, and this is on the side that is marked. This will need to be trimmed off once you have completed your shape. We needed some hemisphere shapes for a vacuum former, which we were making on a lathe. As they were just done by eye, the two halves never really made a sphere shape when the halves were put together.
