Sphere in Cube desktop toy
prusaprinters
A very simple yet fascinating fidget desktop toy. A perfect sphere trapped inside a hollow cube, sometimes called a ball in cage. The sphere is just about bigger than the cube windows giving the illusion that the sphere could make it out but in fact can't. Thanks to 3D printing no assembly is required as the sphere is directly printed inside. This makes for a fun and entertaining desktop toy. The design is also a great introduction to 3D printing for beginners. It is simple to recreate and a way of experimenting with slicer settings.Print:Provided are both the print and 3MF files, both exported with highest resolutions to prevent any facets on the sphere. Support is recommended for both the cube bridges and for the sphere. Slice with fine layers if you want a smooth sphere. The 3MF file already contains all of this together with other small improvements.Dimensions: 45x45x45 mm If you liked this let me know in the comments and check out my other platonic solids toys like the Dodecahedron.
