Speedy "Red Swept Wing 2" RC

This is the large version of the Speedy Red Swept Wing, boasting an impressive wingspan of 1510 mm and weighing in at 1250 grams. Like its smaller counterpart, all sections of this big wing are held together by just two cords inside the tubes, secured with luster terminals at each end. The two red middle sections, consisting of four parts each, are uniquely glued together, allowing for minimal printing and replacement of only a handful of parts in the event of a crash. Unfortunately, this design appears to be insufficient for a plane of this size, as evidenced by its eventual crash. As seen on video, it would have been better if the parts were secured with a more permanent adhesive rather than relying solely on the two cords. Meanwhile, some additional printing is now required. A camera was unfortunately lost during the second flight, likely when the plane began to flutter just before the crash, as it had only been held in place by velcro tape. The loss of the camera is regrettable, but not as much so as the absence of the video footage that could have provided valuable insight into this project's progress. Update: On October 8th, Helmut generously shared his own printed motor sailplane parts and associated interfaces for the splintered fuselage, with the largest piece measuring 160 mm in length.
