SPEEDY - a 3D-printable RC-Flying-Wing
thingiverse
A lightweight RC-plane designed for 3D printing. This flying wing has a wingspan of approximately 616mm and weighs less than 300g, including all electronics. Update: A new canopy design features 3mm holes for added stability. To secure the canopy, users can insert a 3mm wooden beam held in place by rubber bands, as seen in a provided image. Alternatively, these rubber bands can be secured from within the plane. Update: Winglets have been designed and can be attached to both wings using standard slicing parameters. Three loops and 25% infill settings produced optimal results. While winglets fit snugly into their respective positions, it is recommended they be glued in place for added security. Future Update: A new fuselage design is currently in development. This will provide a platform for housing an electric motor and battery pack, potentially increasing flight time and efficiency. Planned motor configurations include high-speed designs with 5x5 inch propellers or smaller variants.
