SpeedHoop Embroidery Hoop
thingiverse
This is an innovative take on the classic embroidery hoop concept. Instead of a split outer hoop, this version employs a 5-start tapered thread. To utilize it, the fabric is draped over the lower section, then the top part is secured in place with a screw. The fact that it's a 5-start thread (a pentuple helix design) allows for a mere 30-degree twist to effectively jam the parts together, securely clamping the fabric in place. Even I, a fumbling non-fiber-arty engineer, can accomplish this task in approximately 5 seconds. This design may also prove beneficial for individuals with dexterity issues due to arthritis or similar conditions, as it is significantly less finicky than traditional designs.
