This is my final attempt to make it go really quickly. There's no way around needing a substantial stern section. The other issue is the high bow wave that splashes water into the boat. You can minimize this by adding spray rails. This isn't uncommon on actual boats. With both modifications, it runs quite well and I think it's fast enough - at least for me ;-)
