I expand the front section of the hull so it's possible to power it with an air propeller as well. Today, I tested the air propeller using a 4-cell lipo battery and a STORM 1806 2300kv motor. It's much faster than before: https://youtu.be/yqHt3sAv-RI But it's not yet optimized for speed. Full throttle causes the bow to dip, making it difficult to control. To address this issue, I've made some adjustments to the hull design. The new version has a more streamlined shape and a slightly larger air intake. This should help reduce drag and improve overall performance. In addition to these changes, I've also updated the motor mount to accommodate the STORM 1806 2300kv motor. The new mount is designed to provide better support for the motor and improve its cooling efficiency. The air propeller itself is a 35mm diameter model with an M4 thread. It's powered by a RockAmp 5A XBEC controller and an OrangeRx R615 DSM2 receiver. The servo used in this setup is a TGY-R5180MG model. To attach the propeller to the motor, I've designed a custom coupling that uses two 8mm aluminum rods with M4 threads. These rods are secured to the motor shaft using rubber shock absorbers, which provide additional support and help reduce vibration. The overall weight of this setup is approximately 425 grams, making it significantly lighter than the inboard motor version. The propellers used in this design are M4 models, but they can be replaced with M3 versions if needed. Here's a summary of the components used in this project: * Hull: Custom designed and printed using a spiral vase mode * Motor: STORM 1806 2300kv * Controller: RockAmp 5A XBEC * Receiver: OrangeRx R615 DSM2 * Servo: TGY-R5180MG * Propeller: 35mm diameter M4 model * Coupling: Custom designed and printed using two 8mm aluminum rods with M4 threads * Rubber shock absorbers: Used to secure the coupling to the motor shaft I hope this information helps you understand the design and components used in this project.
