Speculum 3D model

This medical instrument is used for conducting a thorough physical examination of a woman's vagina. It accurately replicates an original model, with every detail meticulously included and scaled precisely. Each component of the model boasts its own UV map, enabling users to seamlessly add their own textures if desired. Currently, a simple metal shader has been applied, with no textures attached. To streamline animation processes, key parts of the model have been strategically rigged with locators. This allows effortless manipulation of the beak, making it easy to open and close as needed. The model's resolution is substantial, boasting approximately 240,000 polygons when not utilizing SDS (Selective Destruction System). However, with SDS enabled, this figure jumps to a staggering 13 million polygons, primarily due to the intricate design of the nut. Excluding the nut altogether reduces the polycount to around 70,000 polygons. The nut itself was crafted using Foundry's Mesh Fusion software, with all original components still intact within the Modo file. This affords users the flexibility to substitute the high-poly nut for a lower-poly alternative, which clocks in at approximately 9,000 polygons. Furthermore, I have successfully exported the model into various file formats for added convenience. For those interested in creating a 3D print of this instrument, some adjustments will be necessary – primarily involving the creation of screw holes.
