Spectrometer Grating DSLR Mount for telescope
thingiverse
This is an adapter to hold a diffraction grating mounted as a 35mm slide on a telescope. I just happened to have one and wanted to see what I could achieve with this used on my 200mm Newtonian telescope. The rear is a very tight fit onto a T mount for your type of camera. The rear will need sanding or trimming smaller to make it fit. It was oversized on the first and only print attempt. But it needs to be tight as the mount needs to support the weight of the camera on the telescope. I don't suppose the T thread would be possible to 3D print accurately. The draw tube is 31.7mm (1 1/4 inch) for the telescope focuser. The slide mount is the standard 5x5cm. When printing I used supports everywhere at 7%. It took a while to get the support to break away from the inside but it did eventually. At this time I have not recorded any decent spectra but it might just be poor focus on my first attempt. There just have not been many clear nights recently. Check out the RSpec website for more information on how to do this.
