I'm attempting to build my first spectrometer using the Logitech HD Pro C920 webcam and a 1000 lines per millimeter Diffraction Grating Slide. I'm running Theremino spectrometer V2.5 software for the analysis. While I'm not sure about its precision, it's an entertaining project so far.
