Spectre Monotile Puzzle
thingiverse
A 3D-printable model of a "Spectre", a so-called monotile that tiles the plane aperiodically with "strict chirality", discovered by David Smith, Joseph Samuel Myers, Craig S. Kaplan, and Chaim Goodman-Strauss; see their paper https://arxiv.org/abs/2305.17743v1 I am sharing a plain tile model and a couple of material-saving and quick-printing models (you need many prints to tile the whole plane). As a bonus, two puzzles are included, one simpler (trivial) and one a bit harder, that illustrate how the tiling works. The goal of the puzzles is to capture 9 spectres. Hint: the solution to the puzzles is the "supertile" illustrated in figure 1.2 of the paper linked above.
