The Python Prosthetic Hand Accessory is a versatile attachment designed by Aaron Brown of Axislab 3D for the Python Prosthetic hand. This innovative device can be acquired at https://www.youmagine.com/designs/python-utility-hand-alternative-assistive-device. To fabricate this accessory, utilize two standard child locks that are readily available in most retail stores. I sourced mine from a 99-cent store and found them to be an effective solution for smaller objects. However, consider modifying the design by adding more teeth to enhance their functionality. Secure these components using super glue, or as an alternative option, drill a small hole on one side and insert a screw to provide additional support without interfering with the spring/button mechanism. To ensure optimal results during printing, recommend the following settings: print the main and attach parts with supports, separate the knob part for precise thread alignment, and set the layer height to 0.2 mm and infill percentage to 50%. The FreeCAD files accompanying this design are available for modification and sharing purposes. A second version of the device has been conceptually rendered as a CAD picture, with modifications including a shorter distance between the locks (total length: 120 mm) and an additional threaded block at the bottom of the attachment block to enhance structural integrity. Version 2 was not physically printed; it remains a digital representation awaiting fabrication.
