A hunter is armed with a pole weapon known as a spear, consisting of a sturdy shaft made of wood and a pointed tip. The sharp end of the shaft itself serves as the point in fire-hardened spears, while other types feature a more durable material attached to the shaft, such as flint or steel. Since ancient times, hunters have relied on metal spearheads shaped like triangles or leaves for hunting and combat, while fishing spears are equipped with barbed or serrated points.
