SpeakON Neutrik Connector Jig

SpeakON Neutrik Connector Jig

This is a router jig for recessing SpeakON female connectors. These connectors are typically used with subwoofers but are also used with pro-audio full range speakers. This jig was used with a Hitachi router (145mm base) and 1/8" straight cut bit. It would have been better with a 4mm up cut end mill but I had the 1/8" bit laying around and my end mills are all way too large to make the sharp corners. Keep in mind, this jig will have to be adjusted for your router and bit. The FreeCAD source file is included and is parameterized. Drill the tail hole first, then plow out the mount flange dado with the router. To save some flaming discussion, please notice I normally clamp this jig to the enclosure but it has mounting holes for test and calibration. I don't advocate driving fasteners into your finished project but suit yourself. Also, I suggest keeping the fitment on the loose side, if you plan to paint the project. Happy subwoofer building.
