Speaker enclosure for Apple Pro Speaker drivers
thingiverse
This is a custom-designed speaker enclosure that utilizes drivers from the Apple Pro Speakers, originally intended for use with Power Mac and iMac G4 systems. The drivers themselves are manufactured by Harmon/Kardon. The enclosure is engineered to be printed in a single piece without any support material, with the recommendation of using multiple walls and a dense infill pattern to provide stiffness and prevent rattling. To ensure proper alignment during printing, the driver opening should be positioned flat against the print bed. A sufficiently large cable hole allows for the accommodation of high-gauge wire, but the opening for the driver is relatively small. As such, it's crucial to solder wires as close to the driver as possible to facilitate a smooth fit. To guarantee a proper seal around the speaker and the cable hole, I recommend applying glue both to the speaker itself and to the cable hole. Additionally, inserting a few cotton balls into the enclosure before sealing may help to dampen high-frequency sounds, although this has not been extensively tested.
