Speaker box for HiVi B3N (and others maybe)
thingiverse
.13CUFT speaker cabinet for a HiVi B3N speaker. Roughly based off the Zaph Audio cabinet here: http://www.zaphaudio.com/audio-speaker18.html I changed a couple dimensions to better fit an 8x8 bed, but the internal volume is pretty close to the original design. You may want to build the filter he recommends on his page. These sound surprisingly good for what they are. If you can cross over to a sub around 120hz you won't be missing anything. Or you could turn the volume down and give it a bump to the bass and use them as near field monitors. They can play low or loud, but not necessarily both. Either way, they do want quite a bit of power to run. I do suggest doing the filter from Zaph. There is a little harshness on the high end (breakup at 8khz) that is distracting without it. These things project really well and have no problem filling small/mid sized spaces with clear audio. Soundstage is pretty good and in my room extends beyond the speakers a few feet. I used 18% infill, put a bit of foam in the back half and very lightly filled the rest of the box. I didn't have any noticeable ringing.
