SPD Bike Cleat
thingiverse
A printable SH-56 Lateral Release SPD Cleat awaits, perfect for short-term use when bolstered by carbon fiber laced filament's strength.\nI have included a version with built-in pedal, printed in PLA to test its durability. So far, it has held up well on a stationary bike with active pedaling and multiple on/off clips.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: QB-BD Two Up\nRafts: Yes\nSupports: Yes\nInfill: 100%\nNotes: Printed in PLA with CuraEngine and a 6mm brim. ABS will be more durable, but neither will last long; new filament types may offer better results. Still, this is better than nothing if a metal replacement is not available.\nSupports are necessary "everywhere" for the overhangs - I used lines which made clearing supports easier; grids were nearly impossible to remove - both worked fine for support.\nThe entire pedal was printed in PLA; it lasted about 2 months with daily use of 1/2 to 1 hour, 5 days a week. The pedal itself eventually cracked, not the cleat. I've re-printed using PETG + Carbon Fiber; results will be posted later if it lasts longer.
