Device for Assisting Piece Detachment from Support Application Presented: Assistance in detaching 3D printed pieces from FFF type printer The proposed tool is an alternative solution to using a cutter blade or classic spatula for detaching pieces, aiming to avoid user risks of cuts and plate attachment. It's a spatula-shaped device that facilitates the detachment of a piece from its support. One characteristic of this device is the ability to use commercial pieces (such as a ruler) or a durable sheet to attach the piece, and use it as a lever without risking damaging the plate. The tool is characterized by allowing the use of a simple commercial ruler or a durable sheet to attach the object to be detached. It is also characterized by a straight groove that allows logging the ruler or sheet, as well as a non-aggressive support zone on the plate. The device works on the principle of a lever, where an effort at one end generates a force that favors the detachment of the piece from its support. A sheet can be made, for example, from an old metal saw blade, but it is necessary to take precautions to put it in dimension: wear protective glasses, wrap the saw blade with cloth, and use a vise and pliers to break it if necessary. The sheet (or ruler) is blocked at your choice using a screw or two screws (photo 3) The tightening reduces the width of the groove in a flexible area until the ruler (or sheet) is tightened. A few millimeters beyond the ruler or sheet allows attaching the piece without touching the support (here the printer plate) The tool used can be quickly inserted and removed from the device to retrieve its dedicated use. A slight honing of the contact area favors the attachment with the piece, for a ruler it is possible to use the ungraded area (photo 4)! Verify that there is no screw protrusion at the level of the contact area with the plate.
