Spatula Palette Knife Handle

Spatula Palette Knife Handle

I've broken the wooden handles that came with the spatula palette knife set I bought to remove prints from my printer table. Several other printable handles available on Thingiverse have also given out under pressure. I revisited a handle originally printed for an early conductor's baton version and found it made a perfect replacement for my broken palette knife handle. The 5.5mm shaft hole was just right, but to accommodate smaller diameter shafts, I created a second version with a 3.5mm dia shaft. The handles feature interference fit shaft holes, slightly smaller than the palette knife shafts. To secure them firmly into place, I heat-treated each palette knife shaft with my butane torch before inserting it into the handle hole. This setup has proven to be very durable, and my knives can withstand a significant amount of force without risk of handle breakage or detachment.
