Spartan M Keychain

Spartan M Keychain

thingiverse

This little keychain I designed for a school project showcases my trusty 3D printer skills. To deliver an engaging speech, I chose to talk about how I design, build to Gcode, and print objects using this keychain as a prime example for each step. As a final touch, I handed out these keychains to my classmates, demonstrating the coolness of having something 3D printed. This particular keychain features a Spartan head and an M, which happens to match my school's colors but also appeal to any Michigan State fans. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: Thing-O-Matic Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .3mm Infill: 10-20% Notes: I printed four at a time, but on a larger print bed, you could easily fit more. I recommend doing so for better results. Additionally, I face the M downwards during printing because it has less overhang than the Spartan head. To improve print quality, I adjusted the keychain's orientation to ensure the first layer bridging the M is horizontal, not vertical, matching the straight lines on the M. This reduces bridging and produces a cleaner finish.
