Sparrow House
thingiverse
This birdhouse is specifically engineered to be securely fastened under an eave, a preferred nesting spot for sparrows seeking shelter. I installed two of these units this year and was thrilled when one of them quickly attracted a pair of sparrows. To prevent rain from entering the structure, I cleverly incorporated a small overhang above the entrance hole, while strategically placing weep holes in the bottom to ensure any accumulated water can safely escape. Rather than using a traditional peg for the birds to land on, I opted for a sturdy ledge that has proven perfectly safe for the parents. By incorporating this design element, I was able to successfully print the birdhouse without requiring any additional supports.
