Sparkmaker gasket seal resin vat type2

thingiverse

This is type 2 of my "Sparkmaker gasket seal resin vat", which requires fewer screws and can hold more resin - specifically 180g of resin. It's designed for easier FEP replacement than type 1, but presents a slightly greater challenge to print due to its capture nut design featuring a smooth top and drain groove. Despite this, the design remains focused on ease of use and minimizing effort needed to replace FEP and tighten for optimal seal. Important note: Please pause the print to insert nuts. For reference, type 1 can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3019434. Additional items required: - A silicon or rubber mat measuring 170mm x 80mm x 1mm - 12 M3 X 12mm "DIN912" screws - 12 M3 hex nuts, specifically "DIN934" To create the gasket: 1. Print the gasket template. 2. Trace the template onto the silicon mat. 3. Cut the mat to size. 4. Mark and cut or drill holes for the screws based on the template. To assemble the vat: 1. Main unit 2. Silicon gasket or O-ring 3. FEP 4. Bottom unit Assemble in this order, tightening hand-tight - do not over-tighten, as this may damage the plastic nut slot. The seal should be sufficient with just hand pressure.
