I'm currently working on replacing the entire "gantry" setup on my QU-BD 1up with a simplified printing and assembling process. I've recently re-designed my assembly and I believe it shows promise, but I haven't had a chance to print and test it yet. Update #1 Last night, I started printing some parts, but for some reason my scale was off by 10 units - printing at 10x scale is working fine, though. Update #2 I printed and assembled the machine over the weekend, despite having to sand and file a few parts and install the Y End backwards to fit everything together. Thankfully, it's successfully making prints, although I still need to add a few more revisions to make assembly even simpler. Update #3 To improve my SparkinBot design, I've added extra support to REV1 Z plate and reduced its size for easier printing on a 1up printer. Update #4 I'm continuing to refine the SparkinBot's design by incorporating simple adjustments to ensure all parts align correctly. I'm also working on eliminating MDF entirely from the machine, starting with designing the bottom half. Unfortunately, these new changes haven't been uploaded yet; I prefer to test and print them before releasing. Given that the existing Thingiverse designs already uploaded work well and offer an improvement over the original, I'm focusing on making my redesign's parts backwards compatible for easy swapping of newer parts. This will ensure a seamless build process if users want to upgrade their machine gradually.
