We took on the task of creating a case for the bus pirate, that handy little debugging tool created by the folks at sparkfun. What we ended up with was something sleek and simple, that still manages to make this useful gadget stand out. With the aid of laser cutting technology, we crafted this compact casing using acrylic sheets. We were aiming for an aesthetic that was as clean as the bus pirate's own minimalist design. Our final result measures a tiny 65 x 23mm when all folded up - almost cute enough to be a charm. Once the acrylic has been lasercut and any unwanted debris cleaned off, you simply have to attach the two side panels with four bolts to complete this case. If it seems daunting, try imagining building the casing of your smartphone. Here are some tips we found helpful: First off, if you decide on using an enclosure for a Sparkfun Bus Pirate like I am here, make sure all screws can be fully accessed so you're able to attach or detach parts that need adjusting or upgrading without losing them inside the enclosure. You also may wish to design any modifications for any existing wiring within this case before cutting anything.
