SparkFun AVR Programmer Housing w/ Light Pipes
cults3d
I wish I had looked at Thingiverse before designing this, because there are already tons of fantastic designs available for the Sparkfun Programmer. I have a SparkFun AVR programmer that I take to work every day, and I'm always worried it will get damaged. That inspired me to create this compact protective casing. Light pipes are used next to the USB connector, but they're not essential. You can still see the light if you have open holes. If you're not familiar with light pipes, they're amazing little things that capture and redirect light. Plus, they're very affordable. Check out the SparkFun AVR Programmer at https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9825. For light pipes, visit https://www.digikey.com/short/qt8z9c - There are countless options to choose from, so get creative! Just make sure the lens size is 3mm. To assemble this project, you'll need two screws: any simple flat #3 or #4 screw will work. Assembly is straightforward: slide the board onto the track until the USB connector pops through the other end, attach the end-cap with the two screws, and that's it!
