The length of spark between two spheres can be the measure of the voltage. In this apparatus (based on 19th century models) the distance between the spheres can be moved (holding the hard-rubber insulating spheres) until the spark jumps. The distance then can be measured to calculate the voltage pending on the spheres diameter, air pressure, temperature and humidity.Brass and hard rubber spheres, glass rods and mahogany base.
