I cobbled this compact camera slider from leftover parts. I had some 12mm precision rods and some high-performance linear bearings lying around. So, I've been itching to make a slider for ages now, and it hit me that I had these components on hand, so I rapidly designed this last night and assembled it this morning. Update: the initial version I created was intended for 12mm precision rods, but I think those aren't as widely used, so I developed a new version specifically for 8mm precision rods.
