Spare Nozzle Case with Magnetic Latch
thingiverse
I found junkie_ball's awesome spare nozzle case and printed it out, but ran into one problem - I broke the latch while trying to clean out support material. So I decided to modify it and came up with three versions: 1) Nozzle-Box-Stronger: This is the original design, but with the area around the latch beefed up so it's less likely to break. You might need to do a little filing of the latch if it comes out too tight. To print this one, you'll need to slice with some supports in the latch. 2) Nozzle-Box-Mag: This replaces the latch with a pair of 6mm x 3mm magnets. I did this because despite my prior remix fixing the issues I was having with latch strength, I still really didn't like the latch. 3) Nozzle-Box-BigHinge: This is the magnetic version, but scales up the hinge by 50%. I think the bigger hinge turns smoother and should be stronger. There's some risk in that my brute-force scaling of the hinge may have messed with the original author's carefully planned clearances, but it worked for me. You'll likely need to print with supports in the hinge area, and if you're not printing the magnetic version, in the latch area as well. I recommend the mag version over the others. If using the magnetic version, glue the magnets in with superglue. They're designed to have a loose fit until glued, with some extra clearance. I printed these using an 0.6mm E3D Nozzle-X, with Priline's Carbon Fiber PETG material. I chose this nozzle and material because it was what I had at the time, and I'm new to 0.6mm nozzles so the picture probably reflects my need to do a bit more tuning.
